SCREW INSERT

Sims engineering systems ltd have built many screw insert machines and fixtures . In the pictures below we are fitting 4 off tapped inserts to a tail gate lift handle (we also punch a hole for the lock mechanism). We also build hand assembly fixtures fitted with different types of screw driver head. Screwdriver heads can be auto fed and for manual operated screwdrivers a pantograph can be supplied to ensure correct orientation of the screwdriver. We are free to fit any make of screwdriver that the customer requires, but we can recommend certain makes based on our past experience if the customer is not sure of his requirements. This fixture is fitted with a torque sensing and counting unit(box below the SIMS label). when this unit is started it counts each screw as passed or fail on whether it reaches the correct torque with in a certain time window. this prevents the operator from torque out on the same screw more than once.
