CLIP/TRIM MACHINES

Sims Engineering Systems ltd. have built many types of clip insert machines for metal clips and plastic trim etc. Each machine is usually unique, due to the wide variety of clips used. We can design a machine around any type of clip and can also help out in the sourcing of clips. Most machines of this nature would usually incorporate a method of checking the clips for correct orientation before they are fitted. please look at the pictures below and click on them for larger images.

This machine is used to fit a spoiler to a bumper . The spoiler is held onto the bumper with adhesive tape. the bumper is loaded into the lower part of the fixture and the spoiler into the upper.. this machine will fit the spoiler centrally about the bumper every time even if the spoiler and bumper lengths change a small amount

This machine is used to fit star washers to up stand on a plastic panel. the plastic panel is loaded into the nest on the base of the machine and the star washers are loaded onto the platen facing the operator. As the star washers are fitted to the applicator panel they are checked for correct orientation and the machine will not cycle unless all star washers are located correctly. when cycled the applicator panel pivots through 90 degrees then pushes down on to the plastic panel below. we have designed a unique star washer applicator head which is used here and we have supplied this head on other machines also
